The Young Adult Checkers tournament was a success as first place went to Dakota Moore. Second place went to Charles Heintz.
Don't forget to turn in your short stories for the comedy short story contest by Friday, July 2nd. Also, on that day we will be showing the voted-on comedy from 3 pm-5 pm in the board room on the third floor.

On Friday, July 2, we will be showing a comedy film in the Board Room on the third floor. So, keep voting until time runs out. The choices are above this post. Also, this is the deadline for all funny short stories to be submitted. All the details are in this post.

Anime Choices
Since we're reviving the anime group up, the Young Adult Program will be set up in themes for the time being. The first theme has been decided as comedy. So, here are a few comedic anime choices selected to be voted for above.
Azumanga Daioh: A comical school girl series with loads of laughs. It's definitely a series I could watch over and over again. It features loveable characters you can easily attach yourself too and many weird happenings including a creepy gym teacher.

Ranma 1/2: I've never actually seen this series, but I heard it was cute, funny entertaining, and crazy gender-bending.
Gokusen: Instead of an all girls school, we have an all boys school with a brand new teacher taking charge of the worse class. Secretly, she is heir to her grandfather's yakuza clan, but she wants to focus on teaching. It might seem like a serious series, but it's action packed and full of laughs when we follow these mischievous boys.
FLCL: A short, insane, nonsensical series that make you go "fooly cooly" over and over again. It has everything you would need: a crazy, guitar clad vespa driving girl, epic robot scenes, and a little romance of the pretty girl in class.

Nerima Daikon Brothers: Panda, daikon, unique villians, and musical moments! Yes, yes...this series has all that and more! This series has become an easy favorite and I enjoyed it a lot. It even has cameo appearance of a Micheal Jackson character in it. [full review]
Hopefully, this post is helpful for you anime lovers that will be attending the viewing. Feel free to bring your friends and spread the word that anime is making a comeback to Rosenberg Library!
