Thank you!!

Last Saturday was suppose to be the showing of I'm a Cyborg, but That's OK, but we experienced some forgetfulness and technical difficulties. Nonetheless, we had a good time and enjoyed Hayao Miyazaki's latest work, Ponyo.

We would like to thank everyone who has participated in our YA programs this year and we have plenty new and exciting things coming up in 2011. We look forward to see you there and join us in the fun.

This showing will start 3 pm in the Board Room (3rd floor). Drinks and snacks will be provided at this event. If you would like to join us, simply leave a comment here, sign up at the Reference Desk (2nd floor), or RSVP via Facebook.

Review: Ghost in the Shell 2.0

Ghost in the Shell 2.0.
A hacker by the name of Puppet Master has been trying to invade the mind of a female cyborg cop and her patner. Will they be able to stop him? Or will he succeed in his plan to spread across the internet worldwide?
I've tried to watch the original '95 version, but sleep deprivation and deep thinking movies do not go together very well. So, I noticed we had the enhanced CGI version in the young adult DVD collection and I had the pleasure of being the first to view it. I'm already on the Ghost in the Shell bandwagon. I played the game and adored the show that aired on Adult Swim, so I was looking forward to finally seeing the movie. I was...a little disappointed. It was an alright storyline, but the art lost me. I'm glad the Major got off those steroids before the Stand Alone Complex series and the enhanced CG effects seemed a bit unnecessary. If you enjoy the series and understand the complexities of it, then it is worth checking out.
