Horror & Mystery Manga/Anime Series

We're well into October and everyone is in a dark Halloween mood. It's a great time to bring out all the psychological, suspenseful, mystery, horror series. Recently, I have been obsessed with Naoki Urasawa's Monster. I began reading the first volume at the library and proceed forward with the anime series to later read the rest. It is an amazing suspenseful series with loads of twists and turns and great artwork. For a more in depth review, feel free to check out my personal blog.

A few other great series to check out are Death Note, Kuroshitsuji (or "Black Butler"), Perfect Blue, Deadman Wonderland, Elfen Lied, Ghost Stories, and Ju-on. Also, don't forget that Oni-Con will be in Galveston this year on Halloween weekend!

Review: Mars

Kira Aso is a quiet girl who keeps to herself and indulges herself in art. Rei Kashino is a good looking rebel who lives life on the edge by racing motorcycles. When passing by at a park, Rei is immediately intrigued by Kira's drawing and from that day forward their adventure begins.

Mars is a bit of a cliched shoujo "opposites attract" story, but it's loaded with drama...layers upon layers upon layers of drama. I love a little tragedy/darkness when it comes to these shoujo romances, but the storyline was just overloaded with it. Nonetheless, the mysterious past of both Kira and Rei keep you interested in reading more and learning why they function the way they do. It's an older series in our collection, but it's worth taking the time to read. There's also a Taiwanese drama (Asian term for soap opera) based on the manga. If you're interested in learning about Rei and Tatsuya's friendship, pick up the bonus volume, Mars: A Horse With No Name. It offers a chapter explaining the genesis of their friendship as well as two other short bittersweet stories.

Oni-Con in Galveston

As mentioned before in my A-Kon 22 overview, the Houston based anime convention, Oni-Con, will be hosted on Galveston island this year. It will be held on October 28-30 at the Galveston Island Convention Center located on the Seawall. Pre-registration is still open and I suggest you take advantage of that, otherwise you have to pay the higher door entry fee.

If you've attended Oni-Con before, not much has changed other than the location. They will be hosting various events that cover all sorts of interests such as comic books, steampunk, lolita, Japanese pop and rock, and, of course, anime. They are still building onto their guest list, but currently in the line-up we have voice actors Greg Ayres and Chris Ayres and musical acts Otokage and The Earthbound Papas (formerly known as The Black Mages). This is just a small sample of amazing guests that will be attending. For more information on this event, feel free to check out their official site and keep checking back for updates.

Lastly, a local Galveston band that perform anime covers is looking for your support on performing at Oni-Con this year as well as any Texas anime convention. Please check out the Rising Sun and request them for Oni-Con 2011!

Review: Otomen

Otomen: a male who has feminine hobbies, skills, or way of thinking.

Asuka is a masculine character in the public eye. He's nationally known in the martial arts world, smart, and pretty much good at everything he puts his mind too, but behind closed doors he secretly enjoys shoujo manga, cute plushies, and baking. With such feminine interest, he not only has to hide it from his peers and friends, but his mother who forbids him from such interests after his father showed interest in feminine things and became a transvestite. What makes this story interesting is Asuka's feelings for the non-girly Ryo that he falls for. His friend Junto serves as the catalyst and has a secret of his own.

Otomen is a new series that has been released in the U.S. and it's geared toward female readers, but, honestly, anyone can read shoujo manga whether they're male or female. I've only had the opportunity to read the first volume, but it is easily enjoyable and entertaining. It has humorous moments, likable characters, and an interesting storyline that'll keep you wanting more, especially with Junto's little secret. Review: CANAAN

Maria Oosawa and her partner Mino head off to Shanghai, China to gather some newsworthy information to report back home. While taking pictures at a festival, an odd attack happens between the excited crowd and an old friend of Maria's, Canaan, appears to stop the crossfires. After settling down in a hotel, Mino gains interest in Canaan leading into an investigation involving a deadly virus.

CANAAN is an action packed series with a few strong female characters from the good and bad ends. It mixes different cultures and a little bit of global history into the mix, but shows a strong bond of friendship and how the past can haunt you. The storyline is entertaining and gives you some downtime from all the action and emotional blows. If you need some powerful anime women in your life, this is the series for you.

Review: Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran Academy is a school for the rich and prestigious. One of the most popular extracurricular activities at the academy is the host club. Fujioka Haruhi is a commoner and a transfer student, when she walks into a certain music room, she accidentally breaks an 8 million yen vase. Since she's not like most of the students that attend Ouran, she has to work in the academy's host club to pay off the debt.

Ouran High School Host Club is a fairly popular series in America. It gives us a simple, comical view of how host clubs work with a small taste of gender bending. The characters are likable and entertaining and the storyline is light and easy to enjoy. This series is more geared toward female audiences, but labels are so lame.

Review: Black Bird

A fairly new shoujo series that's still being published that deals with sacrifice, hierarchy, demons, and romance. Black Bird is the new generation Inuyasha (in some ways) and I'm glad it has been added to the Young Adult collection as it has been in my personal library since the beginning.

It has wonderful artwork, an intriguing storyline, and a nice balance of action and romance. Although it's not completely like Inuyasha, we still follow a young girl named Misao and her relationship with a demon named Kyo that she vaguely remembers from her past. Throughout the story, their relationship becomes stronger and we learn more about Kyo's clan's rules while fighting off rivalling groups and enemies. If you like the elements I mentioned earlier, then this is the series for you. If you enjoy it enough, feel free to request the newest volumes with our young adult librarian Gavin Sheaffer.

Review: Summer Wars

Oz is the latest technological trend that has captured billions among billions of people worldwide. People use it for various activities such as games, communication, and even functions around the city such as utilities and traffic lights. When a virus strikes the system and steals people's accounts by asking it a numerical riddle, the world faces an impending doom.

We follow Kenji Koiso, who works as temporary maintenance with his friend Takashi, as he agrees to take on a "summer job" with Natsuki. He finds out that this "summer job" is to pretend to be Natsuki's fiance and impress her family, especially her grandmother.

Summer Wars is a comedic sci-fi film that promotes family togetherness. With these parallel stories tying together to create the "summer war" of the century, it easily pulls viewers in with a great set of relatable characters, vibrant animation, and an easy flowing storyline. This has a great message for everyone and is highly entertaining.

Review: Dogs: Bullets & Carnage

An action packed story set in Europe following the genetic engineered experiment Haine, his occasional partner Badou, and a sword wielding lady Naota. What they don't know is that they all share a common goal: to find someone who has drastically change them in their past. Dogs: Bullets & Carnage has an intriguing storyline full of twists and turns, especially if you haven't read the prequel Dogs, and interesting cast of characters that you can easily come to hate or love. The artwork is unique and edgy, then blends in with shounen manga style with mature images. It's a little bit graphic and vulgar, but it doesn't fail to entertain as it progresses.

Description: Based off of S.E. Hinton's work of the same name, the Outsiders addresses class issues in 1950’s small town America. The story begins with two boys from the wrong side of town who befriend two girls from the wealthier side, tensions explode. The two poor greasers, Johnny, and Ponyboy are assaulted by a vicious gang, the socs, and Johnny kills one of the attackers, tension begins to mount between the two rival gangs, setting off a turbulent chain of events. Total runtime is 91 minutes.

A-Kon 22 Overview

June 10th marked one of the biggest events for anime fans, especially Texas anime fans. It was the first day of the longest running anime convention and one of the largest in America called A-Kon. I had the opportunity to stay for the whole weekend and participate in a few activities.

If you've never been to A-Kon or heard about it, let me tell a little bit about it. A-Kon is a Dallas base convention that usually runs on the first or second weekend of June. There are several panels held ranging from art, voice acting, animation, sewing tips, and anything else you can think of. There are also various contests held from video game tournaments to cosplay contests, dealer's room, artist's alley, concerts, and events where you can interact with the guests. Not only does A-Kon cater these things, but majority of other conventions around the nation do the same.

So, here's a short report of A-Kon 22 through my eyes. Friday was the first official day of the con. There were a lot of people waiting in line for pre-registration and on-site registration. The line circled the whole first floor! I took part in the jpop/jrock cosplay contest and snagged second place, after changing into my second costume. Later that afternoon/evening, they held the welcoming ceremony where they introduced the various guests that attended the con. After that was over, they set up for the Blood Stain Child and D concert. There was a very good turn out and both bands were amazing! They also held an autograph session after their sets. Saturday was full of activities! I had to take care of a few interviews and attended some Q&A sessions. A-Kon held their first fashion show with Chantilly and Atelier courtesy of Babel Entertainment. There was also another autograph session with the bands and I'm pretty sure the other guests that attended to the con had one as well. Later that evening, they had the major cosplay contest. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend, but two of my friends won a judge's award as Panty and Stocking, I believe. Sunday was the final day. There were a few panels and such being held, but none of them really interested me. Although, I did attend the final band autograph session.

In this captivating and educational performance, storyteller Dan Gordon gives students a taste of Shakespeare’s contributions to the theatre. He enlightens students about Elizabethan theatre while mixing in monologues from Shakespeare’s writings. Students will experience the wide variety of drama while also learning about the structure and techniques of literary performance. There are a lot of great series that have been added as well as additions to previous existing series such as Naruto and Bleach. There have also been a few additions to the fiction, non-fiction (located on the second floor with adult non-fiction), and audio books that have been added to the collection.

Review: My Neighbors the Yamadas

If you didn't know, we have a collection of films by Studio Ghlibi. My Neighbors the Yamadas is one of them. It is a cute, day in the life family anime by Isao Takahata. It shows "the ups and downs of life" in the Yamamda family. The movie follows Takashi Yamada and his interactions with his family: a talentless housewife Matsuko, his teenage son, an unusually loud daughter, and grandmother who's not afraid to speak her mind. This movie is very true to life while still being entertaining and funny. It's definitely worth checking out!

We have received some really great anime, cartoons, and movies like Avatar, Batman, Neon Genesis Evangelion, various Miyazaki and Studio Ghlibi films, and much much more. Review: Ghost in the Shell 2.0

A hacker by the name of Puppet Master has been trying to invade the mind of a female cyborg cop and her patner. Will they be able to stop him? Or will he succeed in his plan to spread across the internet worldwide?
I've tried to watch the original '95 version, but sleep deprivation and deep thinking movies do not go together very well. So, I noticed we had the enhanced CGI version in the young adult DVD collection and I had the pleasure of being the first to view it. I'm already on the Ghost in the Shell bandwagon. I played the game and adored the show that aired on Adult Swim, so I was looking forward to finally seeing the movie. I was...a little disappointed. It was an alright storyline, but the art lost me. I'm glad the Major got off those steroids before the Stand Alone Complex series and the enhanced CG effects seemed a bit unnecessary. If you enjoy the series and understand the complexities of it, then it is worth checking out.

Officer Tom Hanson (Johnny Depp) was known for having a short temper and getting his partners hurt on every case he takes on the street, until the department decided to move him to a special department called Jump Street. The Jump Street program is a special division for officers that have a younger appearance and are able to go undercover as high school students to investigate illegal or suspicious activity. The department was started by the late Captain Richard Jenko (Federic Forrest) and picked up by Captain Adam Fuller (Steven Williams). Officer Judy Hoffs (Holly Robinson Peete), Officer Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise), and Officer Harry Truman Ioki (Dustin Nguyen) are also part of this special force and help Hanson adjust to the way things operate and later become like a family.

This was a popular teen crime series back in the late 80's that ran for about five seasons. It gave a jump start for not only the main characters, but some of the guest appearances by Blair Underwood, Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn, and even legendary basketball star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The show deals with common teen issues including pregnancy, drugs, gang violence, racial and sexual discrimination, divorce, and everything in between. Not only does it deal with serious situations, but it has funny moments as well and characters you can relate to. Despite it being an old show, it is still relevant and a great show for families to watch together.

Tired of her mundane world of babysitting her baby half brother Toby, Sarah wishes Toby to be taken away by Goblin King Jareth. To her surprise, her wish comes true and goblins appear right before her playing little tricks on her until the great Goblin King Jareth makes an entrance to remove her troubles away. Now one would think that she would be grateful, but it causes a huge conflict for young Sarah. She begs the king to have her brother back, but she must complete the labyrinth and reach the king's castle within 13 hours.

Labyrinth may be an old movie from the 80's, but it is a classic to young and old. It is pure fantasy, fun, and musical. It has a storyline that is relatable throughout any time period of teenage responsibility and wanting to be sucked into a fantasy world. The effects are a little cheesy, but they are amazing for that time period. Mr. Henson does not fail to entertain the audience he deeply cherishes and gained from the well known franchise the Muppets. Please check out this fabulous classic featuring the great idol David Bowie and beautiful, young Jennifer Connelly.

A favorite video and book that I would recommend to all of you is Ray Bradbury's "Something wicked this way comes." It is about two boys who desire to see a most unusual circus. Led by Mr. Dark all the people in the circus have been changed from their normal selves. To the boys' horror Mr. Dark is after them. He wants to change them as well as the town's people into something else. One of the features of the circus is a ferris wheel that when put in reverse turns back the clock, transforming one from whatever age to infancy. The opposite is true, that going forward ages you.

It is one of the boys' father, who works in the library, who comes to their rescue. He must defeat Mr. Dark in order for their town to be restored.

It is great story and a bit scarey. I think you'll enjoy it.

Buffy Summers has the lifestyle any young woman could want. Cheerleading, dating the captain of the basketball team, and copious amounts of time spent shopping with friends. She had no idea of her true calling until a mysterious man named Merrick approached her and told her that she is the Slayer; one woman called to defend the world from vampires. Reluctant to concede to the fact, Buffy soon learns that Merrick speaks the truth and so begins to take her new life seriously while trying to maintain the sense of normality her life had once been. Minature green monsters tear through the small town of Kingston Falls. Hijinks ensue as a mild-mannered bank teller releases these hideous loonies after gaining a new pet and violating two of three simple rules: No water (violated), no food after midnight (violated), and no bright light. Hilarious mayhem and destruction in a town straight out of Norman Rockwell. So, when your washing machine blows up or your TV goes on the fritz, before you call the repair man, turn on all the lights and look under all the beds. 'Cause you never can tell, there just might be a gremlin in your house.

Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed four teenagers (including her niece). There is an urban legend about this tape: the viewer will die seven days after watching it. If the legend is correct, Rachel will have to run against time to save her son's and her own life.

The violinist Sydney Wells has been accidentally blinded by her sister Helen since she was five years old. She submits to a surgery of cornea transplantation, and while recovering from the operation, she realizes that she is seeing dead people. With the support of Dr. Paul Faulkner, Sidney finds who the donor of her eyes was and they travel to Los Llanos in Mexico to resolve the mystery of her visions.

Who Was the Murderer?

Clue ended up being a lot of fun, but I didn't have any doubts in that. For those who didn't show up, you missed out on an exciting game. A couple of us even had a chance to join in on the fun. Scary Short Story Contest

Starting October 2, we're having a Scary Short Story Contest.

Scary Short Story Contest Rules:

1. The story must be no longer than 1,500 words. (If you write it in Word there is a word count feature)
2. The story can either be hand written or be composed on a computer. If done by hand please make writing legible.
3. At the upper left of the title page write on individual lines your name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number. Email address is optional.
4. At the upper right side of the title page give word count.
5. Drop down a few lines and on invidual give the title and By Author.

Chess Meet

The chess meet had a pretty good turn out. People enjoyed the company of others without the pressure of competition. I even got a chance to play with a couple of my fellow co-workers. I learned that I need way more practice and to keep better focus. We will be picking up the chess fever in November, so please feel free to join us at our other fun activities we have planned out. DVD review

This weekend I watched the video "Gettysburg" which I'd originally seen a few years ago on TV. To those interested in the Civil War I would encourage you to watch this video as it is as good a reenactment as there is of a real battle. Starring a host of actors portraying real characters, it gives you not only a feel for how the battle started and ended with Pickett's charge, but also an insight into the relationships of the leaders of the battle. Most interesting was the relationship between the Confederate Armistead and Union officer Hancock. Though divided by the war each thought of the other during the battle. Death came for Armistead from troops led by Hancock. The movie is 4 1/2 hours but goes swiftly as the movie grabs you and keeps your attention to the end. Gettysburg was in fact a pivotal point in the war. If indeed the Confederates had won the battle the war very likely would've ended favorably for the Confederates. Also of importance was the character of the Union's Joshua Chamberlain whose men successfully defended the Little Round Top.

I would highly recommend this movie. It's not quite as graphic as "Private Ryan" or "Pearl Harbor" but still gives you a feeling for the nature of the battle.

Battleship Tournament Winners!

We had a decent turnout and it seemed like a lot of thought was put into every manuver. We commend everyone who participated in the game. When the war was over, Devin Fischer took home the grand prize. Dylan Fischer snagged second and Kelly Thomas picked up the third place prize. We hoped all of you enjoyed yourself and that we will be seeing again for the next game!

Ice Cream Party & Chess Tournament Winners

On August 28, we had an ice cream party and discussed some of the upcoming events for the fall season. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy the selection of events. We conversed among one another and read our "Share a Story" which was rather amusing and weird. If you missed out on this creative little story, perhaps we will have another writing event!

After the party was over, we gathered in the Randall Room for the chess tournament. It was an interesting and surprisingly short match. A lot of strategy was put into each match and you could tell the players were taking the game very seriously. In the end, Ryan won first place, Andrew won second place, and Justin won third.

On Saturday, September 11, we're having a Battleship Tournament. So, make sure you enter and you can win fabulous prizes!

Have you ever heard the classic game called Battleship? It's a pretty easy game that takes just as much strategy as it does with checkers and chess. Share a Story: "The Thing About Thingy"

    No one knew where the thingy came from or even what it was. It showed up most unexpectedly at the top of the highest tree where a bald eagle looked at it most inquisitively, tilting its head left and right, pecking at the little round furry ball, squawked at the top of its lungs before remarking, “What the heck is this thingy?”
    The thingy shuddered suddenly, making a low wispy noise before going still again. The eagle spread its wings in surprise, flapping them in quick downward strokes, stopping only when it saw the thingy had not moved again. Cautiously, it peered once more, closer to see what it was. The thingy’s colors changed slowly, it noticed now, almost like a chameleon who couldn’t quite make its mind up. The eagle gasped, “Maybe I should see if someone else can figure out this…thingy.”
    The eagle flew away and found a fly and the eagle said, “Hey fly, come with me and see this thingy.” The fly said “ok” and they left towards the tree with the thingy. When they reached the tree, the fly said, “I’m sorry eagle, I don’t have a clue to what it might be?” The thingy shuddered and started to sprout wings.
    That was before they realized the wings weren’t wings at all but small leaves as many vegetables would have. The thingy was a thingy indeed…unlike any thingies ever seen. It looked like a toy with its small, round, furry, purple self but it had a huge set of teeth and puppy eyes. What is this thingy? It sniveled and growled; it rolled, bounced, and turned incessantly as a child would when excited. If this thingy can’t fly why then does it reach for the sky?! The Eagle and the fly decided that man might know what thingy is and why it bounces so. They invited the thingy to follow them stared before asking: what thing are you thingy? And the thingy shuddered and growled and sniveled…it had not learned any other language than that of thingyling.
    The Eagle and the Fly sat there watching this strange thingy, then looked at one another. “Umm…how do we get this thingy out of the tree?” Fly asked, looking over the branch towards the ground. “Maybe it can use those leafy wings to float down,” The Eagle suggested, watching the thingy continue to move around and speak in its own tongue. “Or you could carry it to Mars in your strong talons,” Fly said, crawling over towards Eagle’s feet.
    The strange thing about strange thingy was his utter contempt for human languages. Why never had he heard such nonsense and pure, unadulterated drivel!
    He proceeded to lead a protest movement among different animal species which ended by incarceration in Freedom Jail just south of Bailout Wahoo Bar and Grill. Luckily, a sympathetic finger named Rollo busted them out.
Rollo was a nice old chap and was completely unjudgemental and very charitable. So much so that every Sunday he bought ice cream for all the kids in town at the good old ice cream shop. Then one day as Rollo was eating ice cream with Janet and Billy; mean grumpy Diesel walked up to Rollo and said through clenched teeth, “You’re in my seat!”
    So Rollo being kind moved to the other side of the table and continued to talk to Janet and Billy while eating ice cream. As Diesel sat down he turned and glared at Rollo and said very huffily, “You’re sitting at my table.” So Rollo being the kind old man moved two tables over with Janet and Billy who by now did not like Diesel.
    So everybody got up and left but before that Diesel walked towards Rollo and said, “Hey let’s go to my place and have a little talk.” Rollo with some hostility said, “Sure.” So the two walked to Diesel’s house and entered the building. The door closed and Diesel ran up and slapped Rollo to the ground. “What the heck, man?” Rollo screamed as Diesel dropped his pants down.
    “What are you doing?” said Rollo as Diesel crept closer. Rollo tried to crawl away as Diesel was pulling his pants off. “Stop, stop. What are you doing?” Rollo cried as Diesel was dragging him. “Now I am going to make you squeal,” Diesel said. “What do you mean by…oww…oww. That hurts stop it. I am too pure for this!” Rollo cried as Diesel got behind him.
    Diesel tugged Rollo’s shirt away roughly and tossed to the side with an evil grin. Rollo rolled over on his back to see what the other was plotting and his eyes widen at the sight of a large bright pink feather. Diesel smirked, pinned him down, and began tickling his underarms with feather. Rollo pleaded and tried to hold in his laughter, but failed and immediately burst into laughter, squirming uncontrollably underneath Diesel as he smirked down at him. Rollo’s sides began to ache from all the laughter and breathing became increasingly difficult as Diesel showed no sign of easing off the tickle attack. He started coughing and pleaded once more for the other to stop.
    Suddenly, Rollo was drenched with water and he bolted up from the floor, looking around quickly. He glanced up from the floor and noticed his mother staring down angrily with an empty metal bucket, tapping the side with her nails impatiently.
    “I know there’s a heat wave, but it doesn’t excuse you from doing your chores!” his mother yelled, before reclaiming her spot on the couch in front of the oscillating fan.
    Rollo groaned, forced himself up, and picked up the broom that laid beside him. He dragged toward the kitchen and resumed sweeping the bread crumbs from the tile, wondering what his hallucination meant.

Action/Adventure Anime Choices

For those of you not familiar with the choices up for vote, here's a little summary:

Those Who Hunt Elves: An actor, a martial artist, a gun-crazy high school student, and their tank are transported from earth to a world of elves and magic. However, the spell to return them home was botched resulting in fragments of the spell being magically imprinted onto their skin. Their solution: run around looking for elves and stripping them wherever they find them.

Madlax: In the country of Gazth-Sonika, civil war rages. There, a mercenary called Madlax plies her trade, with almost supernatural skill. In the seemingly peaceful country of Nafrece, Margaret Burton lives a tranquil life. As separate as their lives may seem, the two are connected by ties of mystery, and by a holy book that is also sought by the shadowy organisation, Anfan. As Margaret and Madlax follow the path of their destiny, they come ever closer to uncovering the truth - with no guarantee that it is a truth they can bear to learn.

RahXephon: In the year 2012 Japan was invaded by the Mu. Human-like beings from another dimension with blue blood. In the year 2015 Tokyo is attacked by invaders, who are repelled by a humanoid weapon called a Dolem. During the chaos, Ayato Kamina meets Reika Mishima, a girl whom he had never met but had done a painting of the morning before. During that same day, he is attacked by government officials but a woman named Haruka comes to his rescue, informing him that she was sent to get him by the Organization TERRA, and that Tokyo had been sealed in a time rift where time flows one third as fast as the outside world. He flees from Haruka onto a train where he sees Reika once more. Arriving at the Room of Rah, he follows her to a tremendous egg where the Dolem RahXephon is hatched from, and upon her singing his mother appears atop the Dolem that had stopped the TERRA Invasion. In the battle Ayato's mother is injured, and Ayato flees Tokyo Jupiter with Haruka upon seeing his mother's blue blood.

Samurai Champloo: Mugen's a buck wild warrior - violent, thoughtless and womanizing. Jin is a vagrant ronin - mysterious, traditional, well-mannered and very strong as well. These two fiercely independent warriors can`t be any more different from one another, yet their paths cross when Fuu, a ditzy waitress, saves them from being executed when they are arrested after a violent sword fight. Fuu convinces the two vagrant young men to help her find a mysterious samurai "who smells of sunflowers." And their journey begins. This is a story about love, friendship and courage... NOT!

Trigun: Trigun takes place in the distant future on a deserted planet. Vash the Stampede is a gunfighter with a legend so ruthless that he has a $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head. Entire towns are evacuated upon hearing rumors of his arrival. However, the real Vash the Stampede is not the same man that rumor portrays him to be. The enigmatic and conflicted lead character in Trigun is actually more heroic in nature, and at at times a complete and utter idiot.

School has begun and summer is coming to a close, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop! We have prepared some fun activities for you guys to participate in if you need a little stress relief or simply want something to do on the weekend. Everything is scheduled on Saturday, so no worries on it conflicting with your academics. We will be continuing our schedule with more games, tournaments, contests, movies, and anime!
